The FIA Institute has won an international award for the development of its Advanced Side Impact Safety System, which was introduced into the FIA World Rally Championship this season.

Members of the Commission for Global Road Safety, including seven times Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher, have reviewed progress in tackling the global road death epidemic.

Since it was launched on World Environment Day, the Make Cars Green campaign has gone global in 2008, with events held across the world to promote greener motoring to the public.
